5 Fun things to do on Maui
With an average temperature of 75-85 degrees, Maui is more than just a stunning place to get to know ocean wildlife through one of our awesome scuba diving adventures. As the second largest island in Hawaii, this stunning landscape boasts some incredibly unique sights that can only be seen here. We have compiled a list of several facts about Maui in the hopes that you will gain a greater appreciation of the island we call home.
- The Road to Hana- Taking a road trip around Maui may not have been your first thought, but this is a full day attraction that is not to be missed. With over 600 hairpin turns and 50+ bridges, this scenic drive takes you through the natural scenery that encompasses the island. Make sure to pull over to get some stunning photos or to stop for some banana bread from one of the many food stops along the way.
- White, Red, and Black Sand- While Hawaii itself is known for white sand beaches that stretch for miles, the beach oriented tourist should make sure to also take note of two of the less common beaches that are covered in red or black sand. For red sand try Kaihalulu Beach and for black sand head to Waianapanapa State Park.
- FootGolf- Located at Ka’anapali Golf Course, this is a fun way to get the family out for a non traditional adventure. Kick a soccer ball around either a 9 or 18 hole course as you try to make it into the 21-inch round hole.
- Maui Pineapple Tour- Get to know how this sweet fruit is planted, grows, and is harvested by visiting an authentic pineapple farm on the island. A popular activity for families, these tours provide an inside look as to how the pineapple industry has flourished in Hawaiian soil.
- Candlelight tour of the Baldwin House- This is the oldest house that is still standing on the island and once belonged to Reverend Dwight Baldwin who along with his wife and children had a large impact on the history of the island. Tours are now being run by the Lahaina Restoration Foundation, a non-profit foundation who focus on restoring, preserving and protecting the history of the island and the era of the Hawaiian monarchy.
