Night Diving
Night dives Maui are a completely different experience than diving during the day. You
can dive in the same spot that you did just earlier in the day and feel that you have completely
relocated yourself. The underwater experience during the day is extremely different at night.
Make sure you go slow and take your time to appreciate all that mother nature has to offer.
You might be lucky enough to experience sleeping fish attempting to hide, shrimp, lobster,
crabs, maybe even a shark! You are certain to see bioluminescence.
It important that you get yourself set up for night dives Maui while there is still daylight.
A spur of the moment night dive, particularly for newer divers, is never a good idea. Have all of
your equipment prepared while you can still accurately see everything. If you are preparing for
a night dive with Maui Scuba Mike you will never be alone, but if you gain confidence enough to
practice outside of our classes, we caution you to never dive alone. Swimming alone in any
capacity, let alone scuba diving, is never a safe idea no matter how experienced of a diver you
may be. Leaving during twilight is an ideal time as you can still see enough to get yourself in
your gear, but it will soon be dark enough to encounter the underwater world you are hoping
to find!
If you have any questions about our night dives or any of our diving instruction classes,
we would be happy to chat with you further. We strive to create the experience of a lifetime
and if you have something particular in mind you hope to see please let us know! We hope that
you have the most magnificent introduction into the world of diving and learn to enjoy it for
many years to come.
