Become PADI Certified
If you are looking into becoming PADI certified Maui, you have come to the right place. Maui Scuba Mike has trained a variety of different individuals and helped them receive their PADI certification. You want to make sure that you are in good physical condition before beginning this endeavor. Make sure that you are comfortable swimming distances and can tread water or at least float for a minimum of 10 minutes. This is important for your own safety out in the water. Becoming PADI certified Maui can be broken down into 3 phases. See below for greater detail on the phases involved.
- Knowledge: It is important that you learn how to plan your dives. This will help make sure that you are safe when you start diving without an instructor. You will also want to know how to select the proper scuba gear. There are also underwater signals and diving procedures that you will need to know before you can be safe underwater.
- Confined Water Dives: Before entering open water, it is important to practice skills in a pool or any body of confined water. In your confined water space, you will be able to practice setting up your gear and getting in and out of the water. You will also want to practice getting water out of your mask. It is also important to practice any necessary safety procedures.
- Open Water Dives: This is the final step in becoming certified. You will take four dives with your instructor over the course of two days. This will allow you the opportunity to practice everything that you have learned in confined water now out in open space.
If done properly it is possible to complete your certification within 1-2 weeks’ time. If you have any questions about achieving a PADI certification we would be happy to help!
