What is PADI?
If you have been looking to get PADI certified Maui it is important that you thoroughly understand what PADI is. If you hope to get PADI certified Maui in the near future, we are here to help you through the entire process. We want to make sure that you feel comfortable with what is expected of you. PADI stands for Professional Association of Diving Instructors and was first founded by John Oronin and Ralph Erickson back in 1966.
PADI is a recreational diving membership. This membership is good for entry level through advanced levels. PADI is a performance based diver training that goes into the practical knowledge, safety, and motor skills needed for successful and safe diving. For beginners the basic physics and physiology are first introduced. As divers become more advanced the knowledge becomes more in-depth. This type of diving is recommended for ages 10 and up but other factors should also be taken into consideration to make sure that a child is ready to dive.
As of 2022 there were 29 million scuba certifications issued. PADI recommends that dive knowledge is broken down into various training modules. However, back in 2006 the program was scrutinized for not being thorough enough. We believe that PADI certification is a great way to get introduced to scuba diving and will help keep you safe out in the water. We look forward to helping you experience the trip of a lifetime. Once you have become PADI certified you will never look back.
